Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in 39 Raffinement |
Yes, there's the Chanel quad sitting on the ground. Lol. To be honest, I wasn't very drawn to this quad. It is a neutral quad after all. I just saw a lot of people loving this which made me go hmmm. Since there is nothing about this quad that looked like it wasn't going to work for me, I went ahead and got it. Right decision, I tell you.
You'll be seeing a lot of my hands in this post. Lol. First off, packaging. Nothing fancy. Typical of Chanel Les 4 Ombres quads. It's a bit thicker and flimsy than I would like but it works. It comes with two sponge applicators which I didn't take a picture of.
Raffinement looks like a good old neutral quad. It has light beige (frost), light brown with slight purple (frost with shimmers), warm taupe (frost), and plummy brown (satin with slight shimmers). It's the plum tones that makes this quad in my opinion. The plum tones are definitely more apparent in real life and are apparent on my eyes. If you are like me and browns don't flatter you, this quad still might be very flattering on you. There's no matte shade in this quad but the darkest color isn't all that shimmery so there is variation in finish. It is frosty but not overly so.
Formula is very good. It's the best out of three Chanel quads I own. It's the smooth, buttery type and goes on and blend very well. Very happy with the formula.

This was pleasant surprise. I expected good and this is awesome. I love the quad! I def recommend you check it out or try it on at a counter. :D
And this is making me feeling like getting Suqqu Himesango is a bit redundant. Any opinions?
I've had my eye on Raffinement for a while and I hear Raffinement is unique enough to own, but with both Himesango and Tom Ford Enchanted in my possession, I can not bear to spring for it. It does look really beautiful on you!!
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense. I see how they could look different in pan and when swatched but I think they would "do the same thing" on eyes. I think my wanting to get Himesango is due to wanting to try Suqqu quint and nothing else really appealing to me. Lol.
DeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI love this quad too. I have this and love the shade a lot. Very wearable :)
Hi! :) I was pleasantly surprised. It takes a lot for me to love browns but this is so lovely
DeleteOh I've had my eye on this for several months......along with Burberry Pink Taupe and Guerlain Les Fumes. If you had to pick just one, which gives you the most bang for your buck?
ReplyDeleteValue wise, I think they are the same so it's really the matter of what tones flatter you the most and what you want to wear everyday. Les Fumes and Pink Taupe are pretty similar but Les Fumes is more metallic and Pink Taupe is more subtle. I hope that helps!
DeleteThanks for pointing me in the right direction, Rachel. Pink Taupe will be mine!(Someday)
