Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Review

Woo hoo! I finished the jar of this. I was a small one at 0.5oz but still. Lol. Finishing a product = trying out a new product so it's always exciting for me. :D

Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation is a oil free night creme that helps with hyperpigmentation issues with vitamin C and E. It's a white creme that applies and spreads really nicely. It's light but hydrating enough. My skin actually produces less oil overnight when I use this.

While my skin is very congested, the surface of my skin is quite dehydrated. I know, tricky. Whenever I use a moisturizer that is hydrating enough, it results in clogged pores, greasy mess, and cystic acne. So I have learned to live with flakes. While this doesn't eliminate the flakes, Sheer Transformation significantly reduced them. My skin feels a lot smoother. And the best part, no clogging and no cystic acne. My face doesn't feel tight or uncomfortable. Love this for that.

I did not notice a significant improvement in hyperpigmentation solely from this. The rate of lightening was pretty similar to when I was using Philosophy Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector alone.

I am really happy with the performance of this one but here's my gripe. I was looking at the ingredient list, and there are quite a bit of "--cones". Now, I have made peace with the fact that makeup will have lots of silicone in them. My skin doesn't react horribly to it. It's fine. But in skincare? I don't want silicone to be on my face 24/7, and this has a significant amount as dimethicone is the third on the ingredient on the list.

I was torn about repurchasing it. I want to avoid silicone because of its possible adverse effects on the skin, but this has been very good for my skin despite the silicone in it. Hmm... I am still not comfortable having so much silicone in my night time skin care products, so I've decided to try other products that are similar to this. It's a shame. I would only recommend it if you don't care about silicone in skincare.

I would much rather have a creme that doesn't spread as nicely than the same product with crap load of silicone. It could have been a staple for me but that amount of silicone is no good for me. I hope they will reformulate this in the future.
