Sigma Sigmax Brushes: F84 on top and F82 on the bottom

Sigma Sigmax Brushes F82 and F82 are super duper dense face brushes with synthetic bristles. They are really soft and the densest brushes I own. Both of them are two of my best performing foundation brushes but I like to save F82 Round Top Kabuki for Soleil  Tan de Chanel as I discussed in this post. Some people find F82 a little too dense and stiff for foundation use. I think it works great but I see where that can come from. F82 bristles are shorter, so they are stiffer, which might make buffing a bit more difficult. I don't buff all over, I don't have a problem with it. Still I need F82 for my bronzer, so F84 is my go to brush unless the I need to stipple foundation.

F84 Angled Top Kabuki is great because you can spread around the product and then buff. The angle cut makes it so easy to move foundation around your face. Plus, it's so dense that it effectively spreads out the product without absorbing too much into the bristles.

F80 Flat Top Kabuki is the highly highly raved Sigmax brush. I haven't gotten it because I think people who love it like to buff all over the face with it. I love the finish of buffed in foundation on skin but I have flaky area on my skin that buffing all over my face is a huge no no. So I need a brush that has a more precise head and is more convenient to spread the foundation around and then to buff in small regions. F84 it is. :D

I absolutely love these brushes but cleaning them is little more a hassle because they are so dense. I always like to clean my brushes somehow after every use (which is why I like synthetic brushes in general - more resilient). I pour some alcohol onto a napkin and then I just swirl the brushes on it for daily quick cleaning. For a full clean, which I do every 3-4 uses, I use dish soap. I find that dish soap works the best out of things I have tried. My bristles look a bit stained, and yes they are. I am not entirely sure if bristles can be kept completely white if they are cleaned properly each time. Now, I don't clean them until they are all white and pretty. I pretty much stop when most of the product is out of the bristles. This habit developed because I use serious foundations like Colorstay and Dermablend. Most of my face brushes are stained. I am not bothered so I just tend to clean my face brushes up to the point where I feel like I got the products and bacteria off of the brushes. Also I have had these for six months now, and they haven't shedded on me yet. Yay!

Also because of the density, drying time is on a longer side. It takes little bit more than 24 hours to dry unless it's mad humid. Last note: they are quite heavy brushes. They won't hurt your arms or anything but they feel substantial in your hands.

The reason why I lumped them together for a review is because the duo is on sale. It has been for a while. I believe they are on sale because Sigma now sells brushes with glossy handles and holographic engravings. The ones on sale are matte handles. If you don't care of about handles, score! I would say. :) I highly recommend these two brushes regardless of the handles.

Now the exciting news! On July 11th, new F88 and P88 will be available! The reason I liked F84 for foundation so much is because of the angle cut. I'm thinking F88 will be just as good as F84 in spreading foundation and just as good as F80 in buffing. I foresee a new favorite. :)
