Benjabelle Mini Brush Tree Review

Benjabelle Mini Brush Tree
Today, I have Benjabelle Brush Tree to show. :D Not in the original size but in a mini size. Let me say I love brushes, so I get a little crazy with taking care of my brushes which naturally means I need my brushes hanging downward when drying. No laying flat at the edge of table business. I think water can still get into the ferrules that way.
With face brushes, stretched out hair ties and a clothes hanger has served me well to have my brushes dry pointing downward. But I have/use/wash way too many eye brushes to do the same with. So unlike the original brush tree which I could resist with some effort, I couldn't say no to the Mini Brush Tree.

My Poor Suqqu Eyeshadow M Brush

Update: So they offered a replacement if I ship the brush back (they would reimburse the shipping). Because that's international shipping, a tracked mail is over 40 USD even with the light package weight. I assume the whole point of shipping it back is so that they can examine the brush. Since I've glued the ferrule back on, the brush can't be examined. I felt guilty and wasn't comfortable making them pay over 40 USD just for me to ship the brush back. I told the SA that the brush is functional so I will just keep it. So that's it. I am keeping the brush or purging it. Idk but I have to take care of it and they're not sending a replacement.

Like I've said in the original post, I really really recommend you don't do anything to the brush if you are seeking a replacement.

Woah. I deleted a chunk of content during last update but long story short, the ferrule fell off on my week old Suqqu Eyeshadow M Brush. It happens but it's not easy to deal with if it's international order. And it hurts because it's expensive and new. My bad luck!

If this happens to you with any brushes from serious brush makers, I would recommend not gluing yourself. I think I ruined what needed to me examined and I feel bad. I don't know if it's "acceptable" for an exchange anymore but it's my fault. Damn my impatience.

I'm hoping Selfridges will offer an exchange or replacement but I feel bad about that because I got the glue on the ferrule and handle. I don't know. I will see. I have a half a mind to purge this one and get another one. It still functions fine but I'm just not happy with what happened given the price tag for this brush.

I apologize for not so happy post but this is something to keep in mind when you are ordering from overseas to get this brush or other items.

Comparison: Suqqu Cheek Brush vs Fine Kalla Cheek Brush (KK-002)

Because Suqqu 2013 Spring Collection sucked me into a Selfridges haul, I got the Suqqu Cheek Brush. It was really THE brush to get for me. :) Now I can compare it to Fine Kalla Cheek Brush which I have mentioned here.

Oh, hi. Long time no post. I just started a pt job because I was bored out of my mind and it doesn't hurt to have more makeup fund. ;) And it's totally kicking my butt. I'll post more soon enough once I get used to working. :) In the mean time, I bring a pic of pretty brushes. Fine Kalla brushes!! (Thanks to ducky for propping brushes up) Smaller one is KK-004 and the larger one is KK-003 They feel/look very promising! KK-004 definitely has a potential to be pointier once I wash/shape. I'm excited!!!

Paula Dorf Sheer Crease Brush Review

PD sheer crease blending brush
Paula Dorf Sheer Crease Brush
I have wanted this brush for a while but I resisted because I thought it might be too big for my Asian eyes and frankly my other blending brushes worked nicely. But I kept seeing a couple of awesome makeup artists on Youtube using this brush, so I caved.

First Impressions: Fine Kalla Cheek Brush (Suqqu Cheek Alternative?! IDK)

Fine Kalla Brush
Fine Kalla Cheek Brush K-002 by Kyureido
This is not a review. More of a first impressions type thing. I've only used the brush twice but I was way to excited to keep myself from sharing. :)

Ever since I've learned about existence of this brush aka possibly Suqqu Cheek Brush dupe, my need for Suqqu Cheek Brush just transferred on to this one because Fine Kalla is more attainable. And cheaper. And sparkly handles! :D I ordered mine from Rakuten, and received it in three days. I believe Rakuten has bunch of individual sellers like gmarket.co.kr so the shipping and customer service would largely depend on the particular seller you are dealing with. This brush retailer was pretty quick!

RMK Cheek Brush Review

rmk blush brush
RMK Cheek Brush
Let me introduce my favorite cheek brush at the moment. :) I showed it in this post. I was planning on writing a different review but this saved me from a disaster today. I just swiped the brush on NARS Mata Hari blush way too much, and I just slapped the blush on my cheeks without tapping the excess off. I gave me an oval pinkness with very clear edges. Lol. But this thing buffed it out and off so easily. LOVE!

Review: Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush

real techniques brush
Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush
A very short review. A straight fine liner brushes are my brush type of choice for gel/cream eyeliners. I find that they really do the jobs themselves when I am drawing a thin line following the shape of my eyes. If you like creating shapes or do a thick line, an angled brush might work better for that. For my purposes, fine liner brushes work the best as I lay it sideways and drag it on top of my lashes.

Coastal Scents Classic Buffer Large Synthetic Brush Review

coastal scents buffer brush 518
Coastal Scents Classic Buffer Large Synthetic Brush
This chunky brush is my go to stippling brush. :) LOVE! This one is called Classic Buffer Synthetic Brush (BR-C-S29). It's a very dense and big, so it's great for quickly stippling on the foundation. It's dense enough that bristles don't flop around when you stipple. It's also on the weighty side which I like, and it feels very well built. Ferrules are on nice and tight and bristles are glued together well.

There has been minimal shedding. Very very minimal. May be one every other washing. The brush washes well and dries in a reasonable amount of time. As with other foundation brushes, I wash this one with dish soap and olive oil. Works like a charm in getting all the foundation out.

Bristles are soft so it doesn't hurt when I stipple on the foundation. I have felt softer brushes but this one's not bad at all for a stippling brush. Many stippling brushes have bothered me for that reason but this one is not painful at all. I can feel it but it doesn't hurt.

I am sure I have mentioned before, but stippling brush is great for people who have flaky skin. No microexfoliation to accentuate the flakes. This one is a great brush if you haven't liked stippling brush for 1)hurting your face and 2)it taking way to long to stipple around entire face. I highly recommend you check it out! :D

MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush Review and Comparison Pic

Mac 239 brush
MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush is the best!. It's the best. It looks like your basic flat eyeshadow brush but oh it's so much better than all other ones I have tried. It's made of white goat hair so it picks up and deposits shadows beautifully. It's on a smaller side, which is perfect for working on my small eyes. It's tapered and remains tapered and nicely in shape after washing. \o/ Hooray! It's also stiff enough that you can use it to work some shadow into lash line and other precise work. :) It doesn't flop around so you can direct where you put the color down really well.

Closeups!

Sigma Sigmax F82 and F84 Brushes Review and Upcoming Launch!

Sigma Sigmaxx F82 round top kabuki F84 angled top kabuki
Sigma Sigmax Brushes: F84 on top and F82 on the bottom

Sigma Sigmax Brushes F82 and F82 are super duper dense face brushes with synthetic bristles. They are really soft and the densest brushes I own. Both of them are two of my best performing foundation brushes but I like to save F82 Round Top Kabuki for Soleil  Tan de Chanel as I discussed in this post. Some people find F82 a little too dense and stiff for foundation use. I think it works great but I see where that can come from. F82 bristles are shorter, so they are stiffer, which might make buffing a bit more difficult. I don't buff all over, I don't have a problem with it. Still I need F82 for my bronzer, so F84 is my go to brush unless the I need to stipple foundation.

F84 Angled Top Kabuki is great because you can spread around the product and then buff. The angle cut makes it so easy to move foundation around your face. Plus, it's so dense that it effectively spreads out the product without absorbing too much into the bristles.

F80 Flat Top Kabuki is the highly highly raved Sigmax brush. I haven't gotten it because I think people who love it like to buff all over the face with it. I love the finish of buffed in foundation on skin but I have flaky area on my skin that buffing all over my face is a huge no no. So I need a brush that has a more precise head and is more convenient to spread the foundation around and then to buff in small regions. F84 it is. :D
