Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Celestial

A drugstore lip goodie! Rimmel recently (relatively eh hmm) released Show Off lip lacquers. As usual, seeing loads of good review made me grab them.

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer looks like a lip gloss in packaging but it's a lip lacquer has it suggests. Actually this is what I would call a liquid lipstick. It gives an opaque color with one swipe. It's can give semi-matte finish if you rub the product in or a satin finish if you like to apply and let it be. The color (I would call a warm rose) is very pretty, wearable, and all but the texture did not impress me.

Disappointingly, the lip lacquer is very drying. On top of that, if I am dealing with a drying lip product, I expect it to be very long wearing: this is not. It transfers everywhere even if I rub the product in into my lips. As a frequent coffee and water drinker, that is no good. It does leave a little bit of color like a stain when the top layer wears off but the "stain" is patchy and stuck on flakes. Yuk!

The applicator has a little dip in it so it carries a decent amount of product. Gotta say that's a nice touch.

If you have usually enjoyed a liquid lipstick, lip creams, lip lacquers, and other names these types of things are called, it might be worth a try. It did get a lot of positive reviews after all. I personally don't like it and I don't recommend it to anyone who wants non-drying, long wearing lip colors. I bring no good news but I hope the swatch helped (The color IS very pretty!).
